My background includes many years in the generic pharmaceutical industry. Typically, competition would drive the pricing down to be unprofitable. Many of the competitive companies would drop out and the remaining companies would increase pricing to make a reasonable profit. Greed was not evident as the market place would prohibit that from happening.
It will be interesting to see what develops from these lawsuits.
